Support the angry one

In the last episode of Grey's Anatomy, Marc Sloan got very upset with Derek Shepherd as he felt that the latter's problems with the job of being the boss were small compared to his own personal situation with the family in focus. Sloan suddenly shouted that it was enough already, grabbed the cup of coffee from the table, throwed it to the wall together with more near objects. Did Shepherd fire Sloan at this abrupt and personal explotion of anger? Nops, he handled him a next object to continue his rage turned to the wall. He understood the same second that there were a hole puzzle that didn't really go together for Sloan at this moment, and supported him. I'll do the same the next time I meet someone very angry. It makes sense to me.
