Everyone wants to be seen. Bloggers, Tweeters, on Facebook - no activity is really fun if you don't get any respons, and the more respons you get the better you feel. The goal is to be seen.
But few people actually dare to demand the attention the way these women do. Most women want to stay a man's dream, but I'd say the women below are going far beyond that dream. They are almost scary in their sexuality, sarcasm and irony. They are seldom an issue for moral speeches. They are not raising our kids to look or behave a certain way. They are comic strip carachters so far from reality that not even our kids believe that they are real life.
Maybe they should learn from them... to not please the norms. Hmm... but these women claim the attention of the entire world, instead of only a guy in school... I don't know. I know that Madonna was the one star who made a true ever lasting impression on me and what I remember her for is doing her own thing, not following but leading and doing it all herself.

Great posting. There's a thin line between only seeking attention, and being a bitch in total control of herself.
SvaraRaderaI appreciate women who take control of their situation, not accepting the conservative values creating the demeaning Madonna-whore-complex.
However - I miss Beyoncé Knowles in this list. And I have some questions regarding Katy Perry. She is definitely on the right track moving away from the dull "nice christian girl" image.
However, her lyrics and statements regarding male and female stereotypes makes me think she has a few things to contemplate. :)
So right! Boyoncé is a comic strip character as well, although my boyfriend always gets annoyed by the contradiction in 'Nasty put some clothes on, I told ya
SvaraRaderaDon't walk out your house without your clothes on, I told ya' - :-)
and Katy Perry is definitely going in the right direction now but not always before, with these new exaggerated promo images she must be a funny girl just trying to entertain - I hope
